I am a political theorist focused on the way the American project works itself out through its institutions and citizens. I am particularly interested in the intersection of moral and strategic questions in the American context.

My academic work includes teaching, writing, and administration at The School of Civic Leadership at the University of Texas.

I am Contributing Fellow at Defense Priorities. My public writing is aimed at encouraging American leaders to make wiser foreign policy choices.
